This is a basic introduction to meditation, designed to introduce participants to the use of silence and teach some basic practices. Each week will build on the previous week so participating in the whole course is strongly encouraged. The ethos of the course is that each person will find some practices easier than others. But there are some tried and test techniques that can help to quiet the mind.

The course outline is as follows:

Week One: Experiencing Silence

Week Two: Body Sensations

Week Three: Thought Control

Week Four: Breathing Sensations

Week Five: Mantra Meditation
